Living every day, day-to-day in a state of higher consciousness is something all of us would hope to achieve. Even those who are into this and think commonly about it find it difficult to do on a daily basis. There are always bumps in the road in just living so staying on that desirable “high” is rough to do.
This sense of “high”, or higher consciousness as we like to refer to it, can be of great benefit to the artist. Being there in this state, allows creative inspiration to step in, or at least make itself visible to the artist. Of course, we all want that. But think about this for a moment. Don’t you find when there are blocks or flat periods in your work there is usually something else going on in your world to distract you? Going to work, problems at home, finances, planning some big event, all of these can be of major distraction to the routine of the artist. Most of us would love it if every day was the same, as far as working in the studio. Predictable, uninterrupted time doesn’t happen every day unfortunately. Even if you don’t have a family looking to be fed or you need to take the kids to baseball practice, there are inevitable interruptions that will come along to turn your day upside down.
The thing we have to keep in mind is it is important to maintain that positive attitude no matter what fate throws at us. It is very hard to get out of a slump once you are in it. So, if something comes along and throws your day for a loop, try to accept it for what it is, smile, and think to yourself tomorrow is another chance. This way you don’t sabotage yourself and really throw yourself into a slump.
I guess this means we should be thankful and grateful for the time we do have to work. At least that is what I try to tell myself. Occasionally as all of us know who do art work, the distraction can be caused by our own actions. Something isn’t working, you need more materials and have to stop to go to the art store, you know you should be in there cleaning up the house because family is coming next week. So, we can’t always blame something else for what is interfering with our schedule, although it is tempting to do that.
Being on a higher consciousness level is good behavior anyway whether it is connected with work or not. Being there will make us happier, more loving, and will actually keep us healthy. A lot of major medical issues will crop up in a person during the time of some kind of crisis. This is not to say this is with every case, but with many. If our ID, ego or whatever you call it decides life is too hard, it will make the decision for you and give you some bad health to deal with.
So, tough as it is, we should try to think positive thoughts, live with positivity all around, and keep those vibes up where they should be, from the 700-1000 range. Not an easy task for sure, but it will help to give yourself a constant reminder each day how much you will be healthier and happier at the end of the day. SMILE!! 😊
