Where do you think your interest in art will take you? This is something none of us know for sure. We may have a goal and it could be quite humble or grand depending on how serious you are about your art.
There are many career pathways art could take you, far too many to mention here. Some are quite unique you may not even think of. Even the person who starts out as a total entry level beginner to the arts may be surprised where this interest could lead. It can change lives, maybe even yours.
If you make your art work public, you never know who will see or hear that work. It may be just the right person who knows ability when they see it and will encourage you to carry it further or even support you in many ways to help you get there. Never dismiss any kind of help if someone is willing to do that. It may be a very modest gesture but don’t turn your back on opportunity no matter how small. Playing music at a craft fair or the corner restaurant, or hanging your paintings in a beauty shop may be just the break you need to kick start a full-blown art career. You just never know!
Some folks make art, dance, sing, play an instrument for the pure joy of making that art. There is no intention there of making it public or going bigger. They are happy for the joy it gives them in their hearts and that is all they want. This is awesome. Don’t change your thinking if you are there. Art is joy and if it gives you happiness and satisfaction just to entertain yourself there is certainly nothing wrong with that.
Most people start small and the pathway is baby steps for a while, sometimes quite a while. You may not know where you are going or how you will get there. There could be a lot of obstacles, obligations and road blocks that make the effort seem impossible some days. But if you have the desire to do more don’t give up the craft just because the going gets tough. If you look at the history of any successful artist you will see there was some suffering along the way. It is just part of the course.
There may come a time to examine where you want to go with your art work. Or, maybe not. You can always just relax and enjoy the joy of art and not worry about it. Its totally up to you.
