That is a tall order to transcend the human ego especially when we all have it. Artists are supposed to do that? Ok. Well, let’s see how that can be done.
Maybe it is true after all. I guess whenever we create something we are transcending the ego….probably our own. Perhaps also someone else’s and they don’t know it. It may all be a game of thrones where we are totally in charge, they are our subjects. There are probably a lot of ways people do this and may not even be conscious of what they are doing.
Transcending your own ego is a trick, but it can be done. You can get in touch with your inner self, talk to yourself, practice yoga or any spiritual meditation to get in touch with the real you. Enough practice in that and the ego shell will slip slowly away. It won’t have anything to attach to if you are really in touch.
This practice works on other people also if you know how to do it. We can do it through our work. If you approach your work with this mindful attitude and explain either verbally or through the work what you are doing people will sense you, they will sense what the work is really saying. So in the process, you have transcended your own ego and allowed them to also do so by observing and digesting your work.
It is becoming trendy this mindful state of mind. I hear that phrase being used all the time currently in education. Teaching the students to be mindful and thoughtful about what they do and say. It is a good idea some of them certainly need help in this area because many of them are not getting it at home. There are a lot of adults who can use this as well. It isn’t only the kids.
Think how effective business can be with this mindset. With the right attitude and mind set you could convince potential clients to work with you and they don’t even know you have “worked” them through your own attitude. The right attitude in business especially will work wonders because most people don’t want to be hounded or high pressured into anything. That won’t work so well anymore on most people.
Try some self-inquiry and see how it works for you. Center and ground yourself, relax, and ask yourself a few pertinent questions that you hardly ever think about because you are too busy, too tired, too rushed. It is well worth the time to do this even occasionally because we have a tendency to forget, and slip back into old habits. Give yourself a chance to self-center and see how your day goes from there. Take time for yourself. Sit back, relax, and get in touch. The results will surprise you!
